Officers from the Orangetown Police Department spotted Blauvelt resident Elizabeth Pandolfelli, 63, asleep in her car in the traffic lane of Erie Street with her engine running at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Thursday night.
Police said that while speaking with Pandolfelli, it was determined she was in an intoxicated condition and she was taken into custody. She later refused to submit to a breathalyzer test at Orangetown Police Headquarters and was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
Following arraignment, Pandolfelli was released and is due to appear in Orangetown Justice Court on Feb. 6 to answer the charge.
