Bicyclist Flips Over, Causing Scare In Tappan

Orangetown police officers were expecting the worst when they received a report of a bicyclist being hit by a vehicle Thursday on Route 303.

A cyclist escaped serious injured when in anticipation of being hit by a vehicle they flipped over the front of their bike.

But when officers arrived on scene they found the cyclist had not been hit but instead had flipped over the front of the bike after thinking he was going to be hit, said Sgt. Kirk Vega.

The cyclist received minor scrapes and injuries.
