Bergen County top 10 mugshots of 2013

ONLY ON CLIFFVIEW PILOT: With a new state law pending that promises to end the public release of mugshots next year, we offer a Bergen County Top Ten for 2013, ending with our favorite booking photo of the year.

Backers say the impetus in Trenton for the new law is to remove the stigma that follows those eventually cleared of charges.

With that in mind, we’ve opted not to identify those below.

Each has been arrested and charged in a Bergen municipality this past year — by local police, the Bergen County Police Department, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office or Palisades Interstate Parkway Police.

Some of the mugs were supplied by Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino’s office, others by the remaining departments.

Each portrait, we believe, is distinctive in its own way.
