Tyndall was born into the Sorriento family in Piermont on Oct. 27, 1924. She grew up at a time when it was not unusual for extended families of multiple generations to live in the same household and the Sorriento’s were no exception. These were the formative years for her when the values she would embrace the rest of her life were first developed and nurtured; faith, family, and country.
She is survived by her sister, Carm Albanese (Vincent); her son, John Tyndall, James Tyndall (Doreen), Joseph Tyndall (Maria); granddaughters, Jennifer, Nicole, Catherine and Elena; grandsons, James and Derek; great granddaughter, Scarlet; and great grandson, Landon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francesca and Richard; and her husband, John.
Visiting will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s RC Church in Piermont. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill. Her family asks that any contributions in her memory be directed to the Disabled American Veterans.
