PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Michael J. Coffey of Pearl River, died on Wednesday, April 20. He was 27.
He was an assistant sports information director and assistant men’s basketball coach for Dominican College in Blauvelt.
He was born Aug. 3, 1988, in Pearl River, to Michael and Gerianne Coffey.
He was a graduate of Pearl River High School in 2006 and Dominican College in 2010. He earned a master’s degree in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2012. He was a sports enthusiast with extensive knowledge in all sports.
He is survived by his parents; his sister, Michele; his brother, Matthew; maternal grandmother, Mary Theresa Lyons; and paternal grandparents, Tom and Ruth Coffey.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, James Lyons.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 3-9 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet.
Friends may send memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
