Louis Sasso, 88, Of Tappan

TAPPAN, N.Y. — Louis Sasso, 88, of Tappan, died Thursday, Oct. 20.

He was born June 4, 1928, in the South Bronx, to Antonio and Margaret (Lauria) Sasso. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and City College.

Sasso worked as a civil engineer for the City of New York until his retirement in 1993. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he received the rank of first lieutenant. For many years, he volunteered with the Orangetown Mighty Midgets, where he managed and maintained the equipment for the entire organization. He was a member of the Blauvelt Sons of Italy and a regular Communicant and Usher at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt.

He is survived by his wife, Frances (Pensiero) Sasso.

The family will receive relative and friends from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. Sunday at The Joseph W Sorce Funeral Home, 728 W. Nyack Road, West Nyack. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Catharine's Church, 523 Western Highway, Blauvelt.
