PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- John McKiernan, of Pearl River, died July 31. He was 70.
He was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Glangevlin, County Cavan, Ireland. He was a resident of Pearl River for 43 years.
McKiernan was an enthusiastic member of The Rockland Gaelic Athletic Association and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Sean, Margaret and Lisa; and grandchildren, Robert, Alexandra, Addison, Rebecca, Annie, Rose and Sean.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Margaret’s R. C. Church, 115 W. Central Ave., Pearl River. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet. Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Robert McKiernan Scholarship Fund.
