PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Joan Eileen Aiello, a resident of Pearl River for 46 years, died Wednesday, April 6, at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, N.J. She was 71.
She was born April 9, 1944, in the Bronx, to John and Mary (Ryan) Timmons. She was a graduate of Our Savior Elementary School in 1957 and a 1961 graduate of Walton High School. On Aug. 20, 1966, she married Francis J. Aiello at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in the Bronx. Locally, she was a member of the Shady Ladies at the Nauraushaun Swim Club.
She was the wife of Francis of Pearl River; mother of Dawn Marie (Thomas Joseph) Bongiovanni of Congers and Jennifer Eileen Aiello of Nanuet; grandmother of Jack Matthew and Brian Francis Bongiovanni; sister of Cecilia Zagroba of Warwick.
Visiting will take place Sunday, April 10, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet.
