Born in Nyack, Rion "married the love of his life, Doris Lapenta, in 1951, and they shared 64 years of love, happiness and dedication to each other, their family and friends," according to information provided from the Hannemann Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife; siblings Joyce and John Rion; daughters Diane Mena, Barbara and her husband Thomas Nola-Rion, and Patricia and her husband Richard Aufiero; grandsons Robert and John Mena; granddaughters Rachel Schuster and her husband Matthew Schuster, and Corinne Aufiero; great-grandson Jack Schuster; and countless other family members and friends.
Rion was predeceased by his parents, John and Hazel Rion.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 S. Broadway, in Nyack. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at St. Anne’s Church, 16 Jefferson St., in Nyack.
