PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Edward James Pascocello, of Pearl River, died Tuesday, Jan. 19 after a battle with cancer. He was 73.
He was born and raised in the Inwood section of Manhattan. Like his father, he retired from the Emergency Service Unit of the New York City Police Department. He was a member of the American Legion and Ancient Order of Hibernians of Pearl River. Many will remember him as “Coach” due to his many years of coaching basketball and baseball on both youth and collegiate levels.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clare (O’Donnell); his daughter, Kristen and her husband, Kevin; his son, Edward and his wife, Suzanne; grandchildren Catherine and Griffin Sheehan, and Robert, James and Thomas Pascocello.
Visiting will be Monday, Jan. 25, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont.
