Born in New York City, Caraccia moved to Toritto, Italy, where she lived for 35 years before making her home in Pearl River for over 60 years. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret's of Antioch Church. She had a great passion for knitting and crocheting, and playing Italian cards.
Caraccia is survived by her children, Fred, Anna, Angela, Catherine, Lucy, John and Maria; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her eldest son Joseph; her husband of 58 years, Emanuel; brothers Frank and Dan; and sisters Lucy, Jenny, Katie and Mary.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, at Assumma-Shankey Funeral Home, 34 N. Summit St., in Pearl River. A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, at St. Margaret's of Antioch Church. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, in Nanuet.
