Woman Rushed To Nyack Hospital After Being Hit By Train In Pearl River

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A woman who was standing near the right-of-way at the Pearl River station was struck by a commuter train Saturday, according to Metro-North and NJ Transit.

The unidentified woman suffered a head injury after she was hit around 6:38 p.m., Metro-North said.

She was taken to Nyack Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where she was treated and released, Metro-North said.

The NJ Transit train, which was traveling from Spring Valley to Hoboken, was carrying about 35 passengers.

Neither NJ Transit nor Metro-North was able to say who the woman was or where she was from.

Orangetown police, who investigated the incident, referred press inquiries to Metro-North.
