Orange & Rockland Utilities was reporting 2,476 outages in the Hudson Valley as of 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, impacting 71,013 of their 229,619 customers.
In Rockland County, there were 46,548 outages, with an additional 23,399 in Orange County. There were also a total of 1,066 outages in Sullivan and Ulster counties.
Clarkstown was hit particularly hard, with 14,660 customers impacted by the storm. There was also more than 1,000 cases in Orangetown (7,312), Ramapo (3,738), Spring Valley (3,495), Haverstraw (2,474), Chestnut Ridge (1,988), Airmont (1,644), Nyack (1,376), Piermont (1,318), and Montebello (1,019).
In Orange County, Warwick Town (5,453), Blooming Grove (2,270), Kiryas Joel (2,109), Monroe Village (1,894), Warwick Village (1,318), Monroe Town (1,301), Washingtonville (1,271), and Crawford (1,123).
Central Hudson was also reporting 23,647 of their 52,814 Orange County residents were without power.
Orange & Rockland did not provide an estimated time of restoration for customers as they assess the damage.
The storm also led to numerous closures as roadways became blocked by fallen trees, utility poles and potentially dangerous wires.
Among the closures was a stretch of the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Haverstraw, and the Wallkill rest area was closed on I-84 for emergency work.
