The DEC said that the overflow occurred on Saturday, Dec. 12, near, or at, 5 Reina Court in the Clarkstown hamlet.
The discharge sparked concerns about DeForest Lake, a nearby reservoir.
The overflow was blamed on debris blocking the sanitary sewer line. It took authorities about two hours to correct the problem.

It was not known at press time whether the lake was actually affected by the overflow.
