Pearl River Schools Ban Use Of Drones Over District Properties

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- In a move described by schools superintendent as a "timely step," the Pearl River school district has banned the use of drones over district properties, according to lohud.com.

Drone operators are prohibited from operating one of the devices on school property unless granted permission by the superintendent.

A district spokeswoman said the ban was a proactive step taken by the school board, which voted on the matter last week, according to lohud.com.

Under the wording of the ban, drone operators are prohibited from operating one of the devices on school property unless specifically granted permission by the superintendent of schools, according to lohud.com.
