William Conway, 24, was arrested after police responded to an incident around 3:30 a.m. at the Pour House at 102 Main St., according to Sgt. Kerri Lynne Schiller.
When officers arrived they found another man with a large gash on his head after being hit by Conway, who also punched the man in the face with his fist and with a chair, Schiller said.
The victim was transported Nyack Hospital for treatment. Conway was caught a few blocks away in front of his home.
He was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon and released on $5,000 bail. He is due to reappear in court on Tuesday.
