It is alleged that Henry Artin was standing in the parking lot with a large rock in his hand when the car pulled in around 4:45 p.m. The person driving the car said Artin then walked up to the car and threw the rock through the back window, causing extensive damage, Orangetown Police said.

The driver of the vehicle told officers he didn't know Artin and had no idea why he would throw a rock at the window of his car.

Artin was still in the parking lot when police arrived and officers determined he was likely intoxicated, and had him transported to Nyack Hospital for treatment and evaluation.

After his release from the hospital, Artin was charged with criminal mischief, a felony. He is due back in Nyack Justice Court on Sept. 21 to be arraigned and processed.
