County Executive 'Bags' Hunger In Pearl River

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- County Executive Ed Day helped to "bag" hunger recently at ShopRite in Pearl River as part of last month's National Hunger Action Month.

Cashiers collected donations from shoppers in order to help fill the shelves of local community food banks, like People to People. More than 20,000 Rockland County residents rely on local food pantries for their meals each day. In addition, one in seven America's go hungry every day.

Day bagged groceries for customers, along with Orangetown Supervisor Andy Stewart, and store managers.
