Secret To Long Marriage Is Compromise, Nanuet Couple Discovers

NYACK, N.Y. -- They're both 85 years old and have enjoyed 60 years of marriage. And they look like a pair of teenagers, clutching hands and drinking coffee while ambling down Nyack's Main Street on Tuesday afternoon. Ed and Jo Borrazzo of Nanuet have been through it all but they view every day as a good chance to enjoy each other's company.

"We like to walk down by the river and feed the birds," said Jo.

Ed was enjoying the near-spring day, feeling relief for having recently done his taxes.

The pair try to enjoy their time, though doctor's visits do take up a lot of their time. As does driving around to recitals and sports events that their grandchildren participate in.

Ed also takes a memoir class at the New City Library.

But when it all comes down to it, the best thing they've got going is the time they spend luxuriating in one another's company.

"It's the best thing," said Ed. "We depend on each other."
