The Sonnet Man will perform at 4 p.m.
He will rap Shakespeare-themed songs to kick off the afternoon sessions of the festival, an all-day event that features works by Moliere, Shakespeare and Thomas Middleton.
Four directors and 38 young actors will tell stories of love, disguise and trickery in a performance of four plays, along with other concurrent events and vendors throughout the day.
Devon Glover, of Brooklyn, is a rapper, artist, writer and teacher.
He sets Shakespeare’s sonnets to hip-hop as a modern-day Sonnet Man, singing sonnets as originally written and then again with his own unique interpretation on Shakespeare's language in today’s spoken word.
