The Sundance award-winning documentary film "Watchers of the Sky," which chronicles Lemkin's life, will be shown on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Rockland Community College.
The film both examines the work of Lemkin, a Polish-Jewish lawyer and linguist who set the stage for the creation of the International Criminal Court, andchronicles the story of four individuals currently working to keep his legacy alive.
Felice Gaer, director of the American Jewish Committee's Jacob Blaustein Institute for the Advancement of Human Rights, will be speaking at the event. Tickets are $13 in advance, and $15 at the door.
