Piermont Train Station Museum Opens This Weekend

PIERMONT, N.Y. -- The Piermont Train Station Museum will officially open for the summer season at 12 noon on Sunday, June 5, according to the local historical society.

The museum, located at 50 Ash St. in the village, will be open on the following Sundays: June 19, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7, Aug. 21, Sept. 4, Sept. 18, and Oct. 2.

Admission is free. Hours are 12 noon - 3 p.m.

The special exhibit and documentary at the museum this year is “Piermont’s Papermill -- Stories From the Factory”

The documentary addresses the village’s role during America’s so-called Industrial Age.

Ash Street was aptly named because, the documentary says, of the steam and ash that used to billow from factories there.

Other exhibits at the museum are on Piermont during World War II and the American Revolution and movie making in the village.
