ForestDance Opens Overtures For Kids Concert Series In Rockland

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – The Rockland Conservatory of Music will kick off its Overtures for Kids concert series with a free performance by ForestDance on Saturday, Jan. 30.

ForestDance specializes in performing traditional African instruments like bala, mbira, djembe and shekere, combining traditional and contemporary music from the continent in a concert featuring lots of call and response for the audience.

The concert begins at 3 p.m., and reservations are requested in advance. Call the Conservatory at (845)-356-1522 to reserve a spot.

The Conservatory is at 45 S. Main St. in Pearl River.
