Expect plenty of company on the roads as you head to grandma’s house. A record 79.9 million travelers are expected to head 50 miles or more from home over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period, AAA forecasts. That’s up 1.7 million over last year. Loaded Gun In Carry-On Bag At LaGuardia Will Mean 'Stiff' Fine For Long Island Man, TSA Says
A major airport no-no could cost a Long Island traveler thousands of dollars. The Suffolk County man, of Halesite, was found with a loaded gun in his carry-on bag during a security screening at LaGuardia Airport on Thursday, Sept. 5, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said. When the bag was identified by TSA as possibly containing a firearm, it was automatically diverted to a different conveyor belt for closer inspection. Breeze Airways Adding Nonstop Service From Westchester County Airport To This Sunny Destination
You’ll soon have more options when it comes to booking that Florida vacation. Breeze Airways is expanding its service from New York and Connecticut to the Sunshine State, the airline announced Wednesday, Aug. 7. Starting this fall, customers can book nonstop flights from both Westchester County Airport and Long Island MacArthur Airport to Sarasota, Florida. Stock Swindler: Barred Long Island Broker Sentenced For Scheme
An investment broker who admitted to using his client’s money on luxury cars, plane tickets, and more has received his prison sentence. Peter Quartararo of Glen Cove was sentenced to two-and-a-half to seven-and-a-half years in prison on Friday, June 14, the Nassau County District Attorney announced. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that New Yorkers can now have a digital version of their state-issued driver's license or identification right on their smartphones. Hochul and the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles announced on Tuesday, June 11 that the new program, New York Mobile ID, was now available to all New Yorkers.
