A trooper is recovering after he was rammed by a suspect’s vehicle on the Southern State Parkway. The incident happened in the westbound lanes near Meadowbrook State Parkway in North Merrick at around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. Police are working to identify a woman who was struck by a car and seriously injured while walking on the Southern State Parkway. The incident happened in Hempstead, in the eastbound lanes near exit 13, at around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21. One person was killed in a crash on the Southern State Parkway involving two vehicles. It happened around 2 p.m. Friday, May 31 in Oyster Bay. Authorities have identified a Long Island man who was killed by a wrong-way driver on the Southern State Parkway. The crash happened at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, near Exit 43A in Islip.
