Black Friday Brawl, Loaded Gun At Long Island Mall Net 18-Year-Old Felony Charges An 18-year-old man is facing weapons charges in connection with a brawl at a Long Island mall on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Tavion Elting, of East Patchogue, was indicted for criminal possession of a weapon and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Friday, Dec. 20. Prosecutors said Elting was involved in a fight in the food court at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove just after 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29. Teen Stabbed Breaking Up Fight Outside Long Island Mall A teenager was injured in a stabbing during a fight outside a Long Island mall. Suffolk County Police said the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, on the sidewalk outside the food court at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.  A 16-year-old boy was stabbed while trying to break up a dispute involving a small group of people. The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.  Another 16-year-old boy sustained minor injuries during the altercation and was also transported to a hospital for treatment.
