New Details Emerge After Person Found Shot Dead On Roadway In Wantagh New details have been released after a man was found dead on Long Island. Click here for a new, updated story: ID Released For 32-Year-Old Found Shot Dead On Roadway In Wantagh Officers responding to Wayside Lane in Wantagh at around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, located the person on the side of the road who had sustained a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. In a new update, police say the person has been identified as a 32-year-old from Amityville. His identity has not yet been released. It happened just after 3 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in Central Nyack, outside CY's Restaurant and Lounge, located at 37 Route 59. Arrival officers discovered a woman with gunshot wounds to her leg and abdomen, lying on the ground in front of the establishment, Clarkstown Police said. Suspect At Large After Man Shot In Face In Broad Daylight In Syosset A suspect is on the loose after a shooting in broad daylight on Long Island. It happened around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Syosset near 225 Underhill Blvd.  Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 34-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound to the face, Nassau County Police said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
