Before settling into the Hudson Valley, Zak! previously spent time in the New York Daily News newsroom and worked for hyperlocal digital news outlets on Long Island. Five Arrested After Stealing From Ace Hardware, Backing Vehicle Into Officer: Fairfax County PD An officer was injured on Tuesday before a larceny suspect who targeted a hardware store in Virginia was arrested with four others from Maryland, police say. Nurse Shares Eery Photo Of Packed Car Morning Of I-495 Crash That Killed Her A Massachusetts nurse who was apparently heading south for the winter was killed in a five-vehicle chain-reaction crash in Virginia. On the day that she died, Lauren Johnson-Lavender, 69, shared a Facebook photo of her family's vehicle packed and ready for what appears to be a lengthy trip out of Massachusetts. 'Extremely Dry Conditions' Lead To Four-Acre Brush Fire In Waldorf: Authorities First responders used every tool in their tool belts on Wednesday when a fast-moving brush fire rapidly spread through the woods in Charles County. More than 100 firefighters from multiple agencies were called to Slater Drive in Waldorf on Nov. 6, where there was a large brush fire that was further fueled by the recent stretch of dry weather in the region.
