Prison Guards Strike At Hudson Valley Facility: National Guard Deployed, Mediator Talks Begin
An unauthorized prison guard strike across New York, including at Westchester's Sing Sing Correctional Facility, has prompted the use of National Guard members as talks with a mediator begin.
The strikes began the week of Monday, Feb. 17, and have continued through Monday, Feb. 24, involving corrections officers at prisons throughout New York including Ossining's Sing Sing facility.

Nana's Dim Sum & Dumplings is preparing to open at 709 White Plains Road in Scarsdale. The Colorado-based restaurant has three locations in Aurora, Boulder, and Denver.
Nana's menu features a variety of dim sum favorites, including sweet rice shao mai, honey chicken feet, and black bean spare ribs. Pan-fried dumplings come stuffed with shrimp and pork, chicken and corn, beef and celery, or pork and mushroom.

New York officials are taking aggressive action to stop the spread of bird flu.
An order issued by the Department of Agriculture and Markets (AGM) on Friday, Feb. 7, directed live bird markets in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties to close for five days, Gov. Hochul’s office said.

Federal officials have released more information about a small plane crash on Interstate 684 at the border of Fairfield, CT, and Westchester, NY counties.
