Hochul Holds Strong Lead in Hypothetical 2026 Primary, But Faces Affordability Concerns: Poll
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul remains the clear frontrunner in a hypothetical 2026 Democratic primary, a new Siena College poll shows.
Hochul leads potential Democratic challengers Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado and Rep. Ritchie Torres by more than 30 points, the poll–released Monday, March 10–showed.
Forty-six percent of Democrats prefer Hochul, compared to 11% for Delgado and 10% for Torres, according to pollsters.

A 20-year-old man has been nabbed in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred in Orange County in September 2024, police announced.
Newburgh resident Jyaire Adams was arrested on Monday, Feb. 17, in connection with an incident in the city on Sept. 27, 2024, the City of Newburgh Police Department announced on Thursday, Feb. 27.
On the day of the incident, at around 11:35 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of William Street and South William Street in Newburgh.

The two Tennessee teens who fired at Pennsylvania State Troopers during a multi-state crime spree have been captured in Hartford, Connecticut, authorities announced.
Jeremiah Begley, 17, and Christian Guerrero Jr., 17, were taken into custody on Thursday, Feb. 27, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Hartford Police, and the PSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit, state police said.
