A New York father struck and killed by a train is being mourned not only for his tragic death — but for the heartbreaking grief he carried long before it.
Hector Collazo, 60, died after being struck by a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train in Hicksville Tuesday morning, July 8, as Daily Voice reported.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, near New South Road and Mineola Avenue, around 9:40 a.m., where Collazo was struck by an eastbound train and pronounced dead at the scene, according to an MTA spokesperson. He was illegally on the tracks at the time.

Weekend Ferry Service Between Northern Westchester, Rockland Off To Strong Start
Months after the launch of a weekend ferry service between Westchester and Rockland counties, ridership is only going up, officials announced.
Since weekend service on the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry was started in May, ridership numbers have continued to climb each month, MTA officials announced on Wednesday, July 31.
According to the MTA, ridership in July reached an average of 455 trips a day on the weekend compared to 240 trips a day in May. Additionally, a record of 822 trips was set on Sunday, July 21, officials said.
