The Ulster County incident happened in the town of Rosendale, off Hickory Bush Road, at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29. A man who was working for a tree company clearing the area along the Central Hudson high voltage power lines was struck by a falling limb and swept into the cavern, Rosendale Police said. Lodge, age 27, after deputies responded to a disturbance call and he bit them and held one in a chokehold. Capt. John Watterson said the incident occurred in Poughkeepsie around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12. They were called to a homeless shelter on North Hamilton Street for a disorderly person threatening staff. Would-Be Bridge Jumper Saved By Police Officer In Hudson Valley A man threatening to jump from a bridge in the region was saved by a police officer. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, the troubled man had climbed over the rail of the bridge and was threatening to jump. When police arrived, they found the man was Spanish-speaking and found an officer who could speak Spanish to work with him, the department said.
