A 17-year-old boy armed with a knife was shot by an off-duty New York State Trooper during an attempted carjacking at a Westchester County gas station, police said.
The incident unfolded in Yonkers at around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at a Mobil station on Kimball Avenue, the Yonkers Police Department said on Monday, April 27.
Authorities said the trooper, a female member of Troop NYC, was refueling her vehicle when the teen approached her, took out a knife, and got into the driver’s seat of her car.
