A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing another man, plus an additional one to four years for tampering with evidence.
Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was sentenced to 25 years on Thursday, Oct. 3, for the Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, killing of David "Mickey" Myer, also of Saugerties, said Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel C. Nneji.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 of Bethel Park, PA, was shot and killed by officials while still on the roof of a manufacturing plant about 130 yards, from the rally according to statements by officials.

A resident in the region faces 25 years in state prison after being found guilty by a jury for beating another man to death.
Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was convicted on Friday, June 14, of manslaughter, assault, and tampering with physical evidence following a two-week jury trial for the death of David "Mickey" Myer, age 66, also of Saugerties, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.
