Woman Jumps From Bridge Near Northern Westchester Train Station A woman was injured after jumping from an overpass near a Northern Westchester train station, police said. The incident happened on Sunday evening, June 23, when a woman jumped from the Route 117 overpass and landed in a Metro-North parking lot near the Bedford Hills station, according to the Bedford Police Department.  The woman survived the jump but was injured and taken to the hospital, police said, adding that she suffered broken bones.

Westchester Students Help Name Baby Falcons Born On Top Of New Tappan Zee Bridge Thanks to elementary school students in Westchester and Rockland counties, several baby peregrine falcons born on top of the new Tappan Zee Bridge have been bestowed with creative names.  To name the falcons, which were born in late May on top of the new Tappan Zee Bridge, the New York State Thruway Authority and Veolia Water held a contest in which voters could decide between several names chosen by schoolchildren throughout the region. Mother, 2 Children Pulled From Burning Northern Westchester Home A mother and her two young children were taken to a hospital after they were rescued from a burning residence in Northern Westchester. The blaze began on Friday, May 31, around 2:45 a.m. at 38 Park Ave. in Bedford Hills.  Responding police and firefighters soon realized that three people were trapped inside, according to Assistant Chief Zachary Patierno of the Bedford Hills Fire Department.
