Water Main Break Closes Route 303 Stretch In Rockland County A water main break has forced crews to close a stretch of Route 303 in Rockland County as crews make repairs.  The break happened on Tuesday, July 22 at around 3 a.m. on Route 303 in Orangetown beween Route 340 and Stevens Way, according to traffic reports from 511NY.  Both directions of the roadway are now closed in the area as repairs are made.  Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Bear Mountain Bridge Reopens After Closure From Police Activity (Developing) Both directions of the Bear Mountain Bridge over the Hudson River have reopened to traffic after closing on Wednesday afternoon due to police activity. The closure began just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, according to traffic data from 511NY. All lanes in both directions were closed. As of 3 p.m., they have reopened. According to New York State Police, a person in crisis had been threatening to jump off the bridge. However, they were eventually safely taken to Westchester Medical Center.  This continues to be a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the crash occurred around 5:58 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, in the southbound lanes of the Palisades Interstate Parkway near Alpine, New Jersey.  Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find one occupant fatally injured, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Wrong-Way Driver Killed, Two Teens Seriously Injured On Route 304: Police (Update) A head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver on Route 304 in New City left one man dead and two teenagers seriously injured on Monday, Dec. 23, Clarkstown Police reported. At approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene near the intersection of Route 304 and Second Street. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 35-year-old man from Ohio, driving a 2010 black Hyundai sedan, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when he collided head-on with a 2013 silver BMW.
