3 Hospitalized After House Fire In Hudson Valley Three people were rescued from a burning Hudson Valley home and hospitalized, firefighters said. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Nov. 5 just after midnight, when flames went up on a home's porch in the Lake Secor area of Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving fire crews soon realized three people were still inside the residence and quickly went inside to remove them. Man Rescued After Crashing 60 Feet Down Into Rocky Embankment In Region A man had to be carried around 60 feet up a rocky Hudson Valley gorge after crashing into it, authorities said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an all-terrain vehicle crashed down a cliff in Cold Spring at the gorge on Mill Road, according to the North Highlands Fire Department. Arriving firefighters soon made their way to the cliff and packaged the man into a stokes basket before carrying him around 60 feet up the ledge to an awaiting ambulance.
