Police To Target Aggressive Drivers In This Town In Region
As aggressive drivers flood the roadways, a town in the region will increase traffic enforcement to address the issue. The patrols will occur in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie in the coming weeks. According to the town of Poughkeepsie Police, officers will actively monitor for violations such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, passing red lights, and other dangerous driving behaviors. Trooper Shoots Man Who Aimed Vehicle At Officer In Region, Police Say
A 63-year-old man was shot once by a New York State trooper after he allegedly drove toward a police officer at a high rate of speed after threatening them with a gun. The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at two locations on Route 97.
