State Trooper From Region Suspended Without Pay After Being Accused Of Robbery
A New York State Trooper has been suspended without pay following his arrest for an alleged robbery in the region. The arrest occurred in Sullivan County in the village of Liberty on Tuesday, Aug. 13, for an incident in 2023. A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a motel room with a knife. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the Pine Grove Motel in Beekman at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. According to Capt. A man has been charged with allegedly biting and assaulting a deputy attempting to arrest him following a crash in the region. A 33-year-old man is accused of vandalizing a fire station and other targets in the region. Albany County resident Michael Cooper, age 33, of Cohoes, was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal mischief Thursday, July 11. Cohoes Police said officers were called to the city’s fire department on Central Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. that evening for vandalism to a fire truck. Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Dog In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley man is facing charges after police say they received a complaint that he was having sexual contact with a dog. Late in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 12, in Ulster County, police arrested Michael J. Cook, age 39, of Saugerties. As a result of an ensuing investigation following the complaint, Cook was charged with sexual abuse and criminal mischief. Cook was processed at the Saugerties Police Department, arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court, and released on his own recognizance to reappear in court later.

A man from the region has been charged with the alleged burglary of a business that caused extensive damage. Dutchess County resident Konrad Gumper, age 46, of LaGrange, was arrested early Thursday, June 7, in connection with a burglary at Vale Fox Distillery on Noxon Road in LaGrange. According to Capt. A man broke into a stranger’s home in the region before threatening to harm the victim with a liquor bottle, police said. The Saratoga County incident happened just before 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in the town of Halfmoon.
