A man who was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle was killed when he crashed into a tree, and the SUV burst into flames while fleeing police in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the parking lot of Dunkin' Donuts on Violet Avenue in the town of Hyde Park. State leaders are urging New Yorkers to beware purposely misleading election information generated by artificial intelligence. On Thursday, Sept. 5, New York Attorney General Letitia James released an online guide to help voters identify and report AI-generated “deepfakes” that can create videos depicting politicians saying or doing something they never did. Man From Region Killed By State Trooper After Striking Officer With Car, Police Say
A 32-year-old Hudson Valley man was shot and killed by a New York State trooper after allegedly striking the officer with his vehicle. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, on Rock Hill Drive in the town of Thompson. A 19-year-old Hudson Valley man is dead after being hit by an SUV while allegedly engaging police in a pursuit. Orange County resident Noe Dominguez, of New Hampton, a small hamlet in the town of Wawayanda, died around 7:20 p.m., Saturday, June 22, at the intersection of Route 6 and Dolson Avenue in Wawayanda.
