Rockland County Man Caught Spray Painting American/Israeli Flag, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was caught in the act of allegedly defacing a joint American/Israeli flag with spray paint, police said. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the Monsey area of Ramapo. According to Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, a patrol officer spotted the man wearing a face mask while walking on Main Street in Monsey. He watched as the man, identified as Benzion Rivlin, age 33, of Monsey, approached a joint American and Israeli flag on the property of a business located at 45 Main St., Franklin said. Duo Charged With Hate Crimes After Attacking UPS Driver In Montebello Two men have been charged with alleged assault as a hate crime after attacking a UPS driver while using racial slurs and attempting to steal the keys to his vehicle. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, on Spook Rock Road in the village of Montebello. According to Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman, the driver was struck by a water bottle thrown from outside the vehicle. Hudson Valley Man Charged With Hate Crime At Synagogue A Hudson Valley man has been charged with a hate crime after allegedly posting an anti-semitic banner at a synagogue. Ulster County resident Caleb H. Rochester, age 55, of Kingston, was arrested on Thursday, May 16, for the Monday, March 25 incident at Temple Emanuel Synagogue in Kingston.  According to Capt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, congregants discovered a banner with anti-semitic language and artwork adhered to the exterior of the synagogue.  Sciutto said the adhesive product used had also caused damage to the exterior…
