Bomb Threat At Long Island Court Came From Outside US: Police Police are continuing to investigate a bomb threat sent to a Long Island courthouse. It happened at about 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 17 in Southampton. According to local police, the Southampton Town Justice Court received multiple emails regarding a bomb threat. The threats prompted officers, detectives, and K-9 units to check the court and surrounding areas, which determined the area to be clear. Investigators said the email may have originated from outside the United States and is not linked to the Southampton Court. However, police said the investigation will remain ongoing.

Swimmer Drowns At Long Island Beach A 54-year-old man died after being pulled from the water at a Long Island beach. Emergency crews in Southampton were called shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, June 24, for a drowning victim at Altenkirch County Park, located in the hamlet of Hampton Bays near Dune Road and Road H. Another beachgoer removed the man from the water and performed CPR, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Southampton Town Police identified the man as Peter Dzakonski, of Hampton Bays. A second man at the beach was also hospitalized after reporting chest pain and difficulty breathing.
