A woman’s death at a Long Island wellness center has turned into a murder investigation. Southampton Town Police responded to the hamlet of Water Mill’s Shou Sugi Ban House on Montauk Highway after a staff member found a guest dead in her room at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. At the time, the agency said the death appeared to be an isolated incident and that there was no immediate danger to the public. Box Cutter-Wielding Man Breaks Into Speonk Home, Threatens Resident, Police Say
A suspect was arrested days after a home break-in on Long Island. The incident happened in Speonk, at around 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, according to Southampton Town Police. Investigators said a resident called 911 saying a man known to them had illegally entered their home and threatened them with a box cutter. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled. Nobody was injured in the ordeal. On Saturday, Oct. 12, police arrested 42-year-old Bernard Colletti on suspicion of burglary and menacing. Colletti was arraigned the following morning.

28-Year-Old From Bayport ID'd After Fatal Southampton Crash
A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island. The incident happened in Southampton, south of County Road 51 and Speonk Riverhead Road, at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Southampton Town Police said a motorcyclist was going southbound on County Road 51 when he crashed into a wooded area. Emergency crews found the victim, 28-year-old Rafael Andre Penalas, of Bayport, unconscious. He was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. A Long Island man has gone missing and authorities are asking the public's help in locating him. Mario Potrero Feliciano, age 30, is described as being 5-foot-3, 140 pounds with medium length black hair and brown eyes, according to Southampton Town Police. He was reported missing by his sister after he did not return home from work on Thursday, Aug. 22. He was last seen leaving work at Sag Pizza located at 103 Main St. in Sag Harbor. Swimmer Drowns At Long Island Beach
A 54-year-old man died after being pulled from the water at a Long Island beach. Emergency crews in Southampton were called shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, June 24, for a drowning victim at Altenkirch County Park, located in the hamlet of Hampton Bays near Dune Road and Road H. Another beachgoer removed the man from the water and performed CPR, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Southampton Town Police identified the man as Peter Dzakonski, of Hampton Bays. A second man at the beach was also hospitalized after reporting chest pain and difficulty breathing.
