Following an investigation into separate incidents at the day care facility located on Montauk Highway in East Patchogue, Roshanne Marks, age 33, of Bohemia, was arrested, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Oct. 26. Son, Daughter's Abuse Led To Death Of Long Island Woman, Police Say A brother and sister from Long Island are accused of abusing their elderly mother to the point the woman died. Nassau County Police were called to a Roosevelt home at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, to perform a welfare check. Inside, officers found 85-year-old Carmel McDougall unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital and died days later, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. An investigation found that McDougall’s 65-year-old son, Michael McDougall, was responsible for the injuries that caused her death, police said. Long Island Man Drives Drunk With 3-Year-Old Son, Police Say A man has been arrested on a charge of driving drunk when he got into a minor crash with a 3-year-old in his car, police said. It happened on Saturday, June 8 in Roosevelt, according to Nassau County Police. At about 9:50 p.m. that evening, 32-year-old Abidan Sorto-Benitez was driving his 2004 Honda Civic near the intersection of Branch Place and Conlon Road when he hit a curb, which rendered his car inoperable.
