It happened on Monday, July 1 in Hempstead, according to New York State Police. At around 5:30 a.m. that morning, Troopers responded to calls about an abandoned dog tied to a light pole near Exit 21 on the Southern State Parkway. The alleged theft occurred in Elmont on Wednesday, May 29, according to Nassau County Police. Just before 6 p.m., a 34-year-old Elmont woman noticed that her Pekingese dog was missing.
