A brief stretch of summer-like warmth will be followed later in the week by a change in the weather pattern.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 23, will be in the 70s, with the mercury hitting 80 degrees in some spots on Tuesday.

It will be sunny both days, with Tuesday's high temperature generally in the upper 70s for most of the region and Wednesday's high in the mid-70s.

A cold front will push through Wednesday night, leading to a temperature shift. As the frontal system arrives, areas farthest north and inland could see showers Wednesday evening.

It will become windy on Wednesday, with gusts as high as 20 to 25 miles per hour.

Thursday, Oct. 24, will remain blustery, with gusty winds continuing. Temperatures will become more fall-like, with highs in the low 60s amid plenty of sunshine.

Look for more of the same on Friday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Oct. 26, with temperatures topping out in the low to mid-60s and mostly sunny skies.
