Cocaine-Fentanyl Trafficking Operation Busted In Capital Region
A major cocaine and fentanyl operation of 21 individuals who were charged with 222 crimes was busted following a year-long investigation in the Capital Region. New York Attorney General Letitia James said the "takedown" occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in New York City and Rensselaer, Albany, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties. According to James, the operation was responsible for selling large quantities of powder and crack cocaine, as well as fentanyl and heroin. Man Killed By Trooper After Pulling Gun In Saratoga Springs, Police Say
A distraught man from the region who threatened self-harm was shot and killed by New York State troopers after allegedly pulling a gun. The incident occurred in Saratoga County around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, on Route 9 in the parking lot of Bethel Saratoga in Saratoga Springs. According to New York State Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, troopers were searching for Columbia County resident James Dellea, age 48, of Hillsdale, who had threatened self-harm. Duo Busted Posing As Rideshare Drivers In Capital Region, Police Say
Police are warning Uber and Lyft customers to be on the lookout for fake rideshare drivers. In Saratoga County, the Saratoga Springs Police Department received multiple complaints about people pretending to work for rideshare companies and accepting fares around the Saratoga Racetrack and downtown areas. On Thursday, Aug. 1, the department conducted a targeted enforcement detail in those areas, ultimately arresting one driver and citing another. Alert Issued For 16-Year-Old Girl From Capital Region Missing Over Week
Police are asking for help in locating a 16-year-old girl from the region who has been missing for over a week. Saratoga County resident Jaylee Lyn Lawless, of Saratoga Springs, was last seen on Monday, July 1. Police said Lawless may have traveled to New York City or out of state. The teen is 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes. She has numerous ear piercings and two nose piercings. 36 Years After Upstate NY Waitress Found Bludgeoned To Death, Her Killer Remains Free
More than three decades after Pamela Ann Devizzio was found bludgeoned to death in a ditch in upstate New York, police are no closer to catching her killer. The 28-year-old Saratoga County resident's body was found in the town of Northumberland, on the side of Putnam Road just east of Jacob Drive, by a passing truck driver on the morning of July 6, 1988.
