Fatal Overdose Probe Leads To Drug, Gun Bust On Long Island: Police
A Queens man was busted with drugs and a loaded gun during an investigation into a fatal Nassau County overdose, authorities announced.
Keith Turner, 59, of 222nd Street, was arrested in Elmont at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, following a probe into the deadly incident, according to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives.
Investigators seized pills believed to be oxycodone, a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, a loaded .45-caliber handgun, and additional ammunition, police said.

Long Island resident Wilkens Adonis, 39, of Holbrook, entered the formal plea in Suffolk County Court on Monday, March 17, in the death of his 14-month-old son, Joseph.
Suffolk County Police were called to Adonis’ residence on the morning of Jan. 3, 2024, for an unresponsive child, prosecutors said. They found the boy unconscious in a bedroom shared by Adonis and the boy’s mother, Daryllee Leibrook.

A man accused of fueling gun violence through illegal firearm sales was caught smuggling 67 pounds of marijuana at JFK Airport, authorities announced on Monday, March 17.
Ian Diaz-Reales, 27, of Reading, Pennsylvania, was arrested on March 2 while attempting to board an outbound flight with the massive drug stash, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s Office. The two Tennessee teens who fired at Pennsylvania State Troopers during a multi-state crime spree have been captured in Hartford, Connecticut, authorities announced.
Jeremiah Begley, 17, and Christian Guerrero Jr., 17, were taken into custody on Thursday, Feb. 27, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Hartford Police, and the PSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit, state police said. Teen Trio Nabbed After Robbing Man At Gunpoint Outside Long Island Mall, Police Say
Three teenagers are facing charges following an armed robbery outside a Long Island shopping mall.
It happened in Garden City, near the Roosevelt Field Mall’s blue parking garage close to the Macy’s, at around 11:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30.
Nassau County Police said a 56-year-old man was walking near the garage when three boys, ages 15, 16, and 17, approached him and demanded his money. One of the teens displayed a firearm.
The victim complied and handed over his money, fearing for his life, police said. All three teens then fled the scene.
