A Long Island man will spend nearly two decades behind bars after confessing to choking and raping his estranged wife. The Farmingville man, who prosecutors are not naming in order to protect the victim’s identity, was sentenced to 18 years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Nov. 18. 73-Year-Old ID'd As Drowning Victim In Sagaponack
Authorities have identified a drowning victim on Long Island. The Southampton Town Police Department said it received an abandoned 911 call from the vicinity of Gibson Lane in Sagaponack at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. Dispatchers were able to re-contact the caller who reported a man was missing in the water after going swimming at Gibson Beach. Southampton Town Police patrol officers, Marine Units, detectives, Bridgehampton FD and EMS responded to the area to search for the man. He was located on the beach a short time later unresponsive.
