A 32-year-old has been indicted for allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash that killed a man on Long Island. Benjamin Sheen-Waltzer, of Southampton, was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting and tampering with physical evidence after allegedly striking 67-year-old Angel Asitimbay with his GMC pickup truck on Wednesday, March 6 in Hampton Bays, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Fatal Hit-Run Crash: Suspect Nabbed In Suffolk County
A Long Island man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into a fatal hit-and-run. Southampton Town Police said Benjamin J. SheenWaltzer, age 32, turned himself in on Friday, Nov. 15, after being linked to a crash on Springville Road in Hampton Bays. The crash on Wednesday, March 6 killed Angel Astimbay, age 67, a resident of Hampton Bays. Man Accused Of Killing Guest At His East Quogue Home
A house guest has been apprehended shortly after an overnight murder at a Long Island residence. Southampton Town Police responded to Oakville Avenue in East Quogue after a man called 911 to report a person was found dead in the rear yard of the residence at around 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. The victim, Christopher Hahn, age 43, of Hampton Bays, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lawrence Brown Jr., of Riverhead, was formally charged with criminal possession of a weapon and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Sept. 9. A man has been accused of offering methamphetamine to a bartender on Long Island. The alleged incident happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in Hampton Bays. Fatal Crash: 35-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Hampton Bays
A 35-year-old has been identified as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in Hampton Bays on North Road. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was operating a motorcycle and has been identified as Darwin E. Monsalve, a Hampton Bays resident. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Swimmer Drowns At Long Island Beach
A 54-year-old man died after being pulled from the water at a Long Island beach. Emergency crews in Southampton were called shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, June 24, for a drowning victim at Altenkirch County Park, located in the hamlet of Hampton Bays near Dune Road and Road H. Another beachgoer removed the man from the water and performed CPR, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Southampton Town Police identified the man as Peter Dzakonski, of Hampton Bays. A second man at the beach was also hospitalized after reporting chest pain and difficulty breathing.
